Your my TipA!
In autumn 2017 I noticed that they where doing construction works on a former post-office in
Via Dolomiti (close to Turro/Gorla) but I needed to talk to a friend (and natural wine-lover) to understand what the new destination of this place would be: a food hub! I had to wait until January of the year after to discover that this ex-post office had become a natural-lit place, filled with a mix of used furniture and a big counter of marble that welcomes you. Once I entered, I immediately understood that this is a place I like and I am really happy to have it just five minutes from my home.

Food & stories
The name of this place, Tipografia Alimentare shortened as TipA, refers to the goal of the project: use ingredients with a story and explain them to the guests. TipA doesn’t want to be the usual spot where people stop just for a quick coffee in the morning or a fast lunch. Here they organize meetings to explain the consumers the origin of the ingredients and the products used, the production process and their flavour. It was founded exactly as a food hub, a place where the producer and the consumer can meet.

All day long
During the last year, I went to Tipografia Alimentare more than once, in different times of the day. At breakfast one can have a brioche from Rovida pastry store or a piece of cake from a local baker, reading one of the many newspapers available. During lunchtime you can choose particular but delicious dishes made by the young chef Mattia (young but with loads of experience) while after 6pm you can enjoy an aperitivo with natural wines. All ingredients and products are selected by Martina and they have to respect a certain level of quality. Mattia (her fiancee) transforms them in dishes that you cannot find anywhere else. The dishes are simple but delicate with less known but pleasant flavours. Carla, the founder of the project, puts all together, she is the manager of TipA and she welcomes you from early morning to late at night. Tipografia Alimentare has its own character (it’s in the name!) and is unique in its kind.
