A fresh dish of pasta, together with a delicious sauce and a cold beer (or, if you prefer, a glass of wine) now is an excuse to go all the way to the Greco neighborhood.

Far away

The adventure started a few years ago, when Fuorimano – OTBP (referring to Off the Beaten Path) opened. This multifunctional place is between Greco and Bicocca, in a former industrial area now transformed in a universitary and residential area. Even though big parts of these area are new, you can still discover some rough historical buildings that remind you of the past of this neighborhood.

Now that Fuorimano has become known amongst the Milanese, its founders decided to enlarge their emperium in the Greco neighborhood.

Fresh pasta for everyone

Pasta Fresca Democratica opened half December 2018. It is a luminous place, where you can come every day of the week (except on Sunday) to buy fresh pasta, made in a artisinal way. Besides the laboratory, they also have a kitchen to prepare dishes. The concept is very simple: you choose one of the six fresh pastas available that day and add a sauce to go with it. All you have to do then is find yourself a nice spot in this naturally-lit place and enjoy.

Your pasta will be cooked at the moment. In order make your stomach ready for what will come, bread and taralli are served. All made with wholemeal cereals and all of a very good quality. The pasta is made with organic ingredients that might slightly influence the price, but definitely does do good for the flavour.

Completely full

Even though my lunch at Pasta Fresca Democratica was after a morning off walking outside in the fresh February air, I was already satisfied after finishing my pasta. I would have loved to try one of the three homemade desserts available that day, but I just wasn’t up to it. This means I have to come back. And actually I love to do this!
